About Vanessa Wong

Vanessa has been practicing yoga since 2007 and teaching mindfulness and yoga for many years in Stavanger.

Her journey with yoga and mindfulness began during a challenging period in her life, where she realised that true peace is not about changing the outside world, but about learning how to reconnect with ourselves with more awareness, compassion, and presence.

Since beginning her mindfulness practice in 2016, Vanessa has continued to deepen her studies and completed a 500-hour Advanced Mindfulness and Buddhism Teacher Training in 2019.

Her teaching focuses on grounding, self-understanding, nervous system support, and creating a safe space where people can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

Vanessa is also a mother to a three-year-old boy. Through motherhood, she experienced more deeply both the beauty and the challenges of daily life as a mum. While mindfulness and yoga became important supports during difficult moments, she also came to understand that motherhood is not always peaceful or easy — and that sometimes what mothers truly need is support, care, and someone to walk alongside them.

Now that she has more time and space from motherhood, Vanessa feels inspired to create something more meaningful through her own experiences and skills. This became the inspiration behind Peaceful Mama — a gentle in-home support service created to help mothers feel more supported, cared for, and less alone during demanding seasons of motherhood.

Today, Vanessa teaches weekly yoga classes at fleksibel yoga studio, offers mindfulness workshops, and supports mothers through Peace for Mama in Stavanger.

“Only when we begin to understand and reflect on ourselves can we truly understand others. That is how we bring more understanding and compassion into this world.”
